A Touch of Rose Gold

You've seen it - from headphones to iPhones, "rose gold" is popping up all over the place! Rose gold, otherwise known as red gold, pink gold, or more romantically called "blush" is an alloy or mix of metals that include karat gold, silver and some copper to create that pinkish glow. It's that warmth of color that makes rose gold so amazing - softer than yellow gold, but warm unlike sterling silver, rose gold complements all skin tones and is a surprising addition to your jewelry box.

Here at Peggy Li Creations handmade jewelry, I am so excited to add touches of 14k rose gold-filled (a more affordable option!) to some of my latest designs. Check out some of these unique and feminine designs below!

Jewelry on You're the Worst

FXX show "You're the Worst" stars Aya Cash, Chris Geere, Kether Donohue, Desmin Borges and Janet Varney as a group of friends navigating love and life in Los Angeles. As you can tell by the title, these people aren't necessarily the most stable of individuals! Jimmy (Chris Geere) is a self-professed narcissist while Gretchen (Aya Cash) thinks she can not be tied down by a relationship. Now in season 4, we find the unlikely couple dealing with the fallout of Jimmy walking out on Gretchen immediately after proposing to her (and Gretchen saying YES).

In a show filled with quirky characters, Peggy Li Creations handmade jewelry has found a few spots! Guest star Tessa Ferrer wore my Single Stone Necklace in season 2 and funny lady Janet Varney (as Becca) wears my Carved Cross Necklace for several episodes.

The costume design on the show reflects California casual - they live in Los Angeles and Gretchen works as a Public Relations manager and Jimmy is a budding novelist. Modern Pearl Jewelry You Can Wear Now

Pearl jewelry is making a resurgence, it is not just a gemstone your Mom or Grandma used to wear! With fashion icons like Veronica (played by actress Camila Mendes) from the hit CW TV show Riverdale to princess Kate Middleton wearing pearls, pearls are popping up everywhere.

Making pearls more modern here at Peggy Li Creations means pairing them in simple, minimalist settings or putting them in unexpected situations.  Mix your pearls with denim, wear pearls to work and you can go easily from day to night! I love working with white freshwater pearls, but pearls can come in many amazing natural shades including greys and pinks. Pearls are also readily dyed for even more amazing colors including peacock blues, vibrant pinks, even greens!

I love how TV and film often lead the way in breaking in new fashion combinations, some TV shows I love for mixing pearls in a cool, modern and sophisticated way are Jane the Virgin and Scandal.

Emma Roberts Hoop Earrings

I'm so lucky to work with amazing costume designers who support my small business of handmade jewelry, Peggy Li Creations. Woke up one morning to the amazing surprise that Emma Roberts will be wearing my Delicate Hoop Earrings in an upcoming movie also starring Hayden Christensen called "Little Italy" (thanks for the heads up Emma Robert's Style & Fashion tumblr and costume designer Joanna Syrokomla). From the behind the scenes pictures, the casual laid-back fashion will be a nice change from her Scream Queen days!

The film is a romantic comedy about warring pizza restaurants, the movie has an all-star cast in addition to Emma, including Alyssa Milano, Danny Aiello and special guests like Jane Seymour. I grabbed this picture from Jane Seymour's Instagram.  I mean, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman herself! She looks totally incredible, by the way!

Flower Shop Mystery - Brooke Shields Jewelry

I've always loved mysteries! I read Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle voraciously as a kid. Some of my favorite books of all time are hard-boiled detective novels by Dashiell Hammett.

So I was super excited to hear that Hallmark Movies created a whole series of TV movie mysteries, starring fan-favorite actresses like Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron Bure, Brooke Burns and Alison Sweeney*.  In the tradition of Murder, She Wrote (love Angela Lansbury), these stories are filled with romance, laughs, and of course, murder and mayhem!

I recently was able to send a Peggy Li Creations necklace for star Brooke Shields for, "Flower Shop Mystery - Snipped in the Bud." In this series, Brooke stars as former lawyer Abby Knight from the books written by Kate Collins. Abby is starting over after the death of her husband when she opens a flower shop in her small hometown. Soon enough however, she is embroiled in murder and mystery! The series also stars Brennan Elliot as Marco Salvare and Beau Bridges as Jeffrey.

Aria (Lucy Hale) Earrings on Pretty Little Liars

Only a few episodes left of Pretty Little Liars and Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) has been playing for the A.D. team in an attempt to get out of the game. In the latest episode "The Glove that Rocks the Cradle," Aria is dispatched by A.D. to go vandalize Emily and Alison's new nursery. In true Aria style, she gets a little too into the task, tearing up teddy bears(!) and eventually needing to stand there with the girls out of breath and pretending to look surprised. Eagle-eyed Spencer spots an earring on the floor and recognizes it as Aria's - who quickly says she must have dropped it on the way in. They've always said Aria is the best liar of the Liars!

Aria: Whoopsie! That was close.

Costume designer Cameron Dale had informed me she was looking for jewelry, some small, delicate earrings, and I sent a few samples out to her. I'm so glad she picked the gemstone earrings for this important moment in the show!

Pretty Little Liars Jewelry Season 7

I can't believe that iconic TV show Pretty Little Liars is ending after seven seasons! While we wait until April 18th for the final episodes, here is a sneak peek of what's going to happen to our girls Hanna, Aria, Spencer, Emily and Alison. 

Will we finally find out who AD is? Which couples will end up together? So many questions! What we know so far is that there are many characters who will return and there will be another time jump! What else do we know? That Peggy Li Creations jewelry will be a part of the amazing Pretty Little Liars fashion. Choker Necklaces (That Aren't Cheesy)

This past season has seen the return of a 90's favorite - the choker necklace! Maybe you want to rock them at Coachella or Burning Man, or just to your local coffeeshop. Either way, you don't want to look like you pulled it out of your wardrobe past (um, like I could*), you want a fresh, new take on a favorite trend!

Switched at Birth Final Season - Jewelry

All good things must come to an end... including the heartfelt family drama Switched at Birth. The final episodes have been a great look back at past storylines plus setting up the exciting question of where with the Kennish sisters go from here? Where can you go after tackling issues like racism, sexism, campus rape, rights for people with disabilities and let's not forget, a switch at birth?!

Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) have worn Peggy Li Creations jewelry since the second season, along with other amazing cast members like Lea Thompson(!) and Oscar winner Marlee Matlin. Here are some of the favorites, below! Huge thanks to costume designer Courtney Stern and her team, which gave me so much freedom, often tasking me to make pieces for specific characters! So much fun.

Elementary Jewelry Season 5 Lucy Liu Ophelia Lovibond

Elementary, the CBS show featuring a contemporary Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and his co-detective Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) continues to go strong. Here at Peggy Li Creations, I feel so fortunate to have long working relationships with TV shows of this caliber. 

The fifth season of Elementary saw Holmes' protege Kitty Winter (Ophelia Lovibond) return in a two part episode "Wrong Side of the Road" and "Fidelity". While the strained relationship between Sherlock and Kitty are explored, it is revealed that Kitty has gone back to a more normal life and has even become a mother. In the end, Kitty asks both Sherlock and Joan to be godparents to little Archie.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Jewelry and Farewell

The last episode of The Vampire Diaries series has come and gone and I have finally dried my tears! Whether you loved or hated the ending (were Delena and Stelena fans satisfied?) I will say I loved seeing the true camaraderie and chemistry the cast has had for each other all these years. 

Peggy Li Creations jewelry has had the privilege of working with one of the hardest working crews in the biz for over 5 seasons. In this last and final season, everything was a little more simple, yet a little more epic. 

Kat Graham as Bonnie wore my Warrior Woman Necklace in the episode "Coming Home Was a Mistake". During the finale, I saw a tweet that said that the Bennett witches coulda had their own show and I agree! Spinoff, anyone?

I've loved seeing the character of Caroline grow over the seasons and her optimistic nature get tested with heartache. Did you think she should have ended up with Stefan and a happily ever after?

Jewelry on Arrow Season 5

Another exciting season of Arrow has begun and Peggy Li Creations jewelry couldn't be more thrilled that costume designer Maya Mani has selected PLC pieces as part of the wardrobe of the show!

Some of the earrings and necklaces seen so far have been worn by Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and Susan Williams (guest star Carly Pope). See all the pieces worn on Season 5 of Arrow and beyond here.

I love the mix of edgy and feminine of my Rose Quartz Draped Earrings, especially for a character like Felicity. She's a little bit nerdy, but her piercings also remind us of her old rebel hacker days!

Will the reappearance of Laurel Lance mean Black Canary is back (or maybe just Black Siren)? So many questions!
