Careers in Fashion Speaking Gig

I am honored to have been invited to a Stanford University Alumni career fair to speak about my experience as a jewelry designer! The Careers in Fashion panel will include representatives from Ralph Lauren, Koret and the fashion reporting world.

If you're a Stanford student or Alum, the career development center looks like a fabulous resource. Although I'm a UC Berkeley grad, I believe in sharing my Peggy Li Creations handmade jewelry experiences with those who want to learn! It is through the advice and knowledge of many others that have helped me to be successful. It is also a great way to network and build relationships to folks in similar, related fields. My business has also worked because of personal relationships -- don't underestimate the importance of getting your name heard and listening, as well!

Hope you can join us, February 3rd.

Golden Globes Jewelry

The first glamorous event of the awards season arrived with a restrained elegance -- whites, Greecian columns, lacy blacks and beaded bodices. And, of course, jewelry!

Big trends: jeweled, metallic cuffs (like Angelina Jolie sports). Tons of gold and burnished gold jewelry (Angelina again!).
Another trend -- big, sparkly chandelier earrings, like the ones Jessica Biel (pictured) and Katherine Heigel wore.
Finally, earrings near to my heart. Long, lean gemstone earrings in what looks like smoky quartz and gold as seen on Mary Lynn Rajskub.

Two Hearts Necklace

Hot new trend for this season -- mixed metals! This charming pair of small hearts comes on your choice of sterling silver or gold-fill chain.
