I first heard about Jim Collins when I saw him on the Charlie Rose show in 2002, talking about his book "Built to Last." He has spent his career analyzing leadership and businesses to discover what makes them successful. He has great advice for anyone who has ever held a job or wanted to be their own boss (ie everyone!).
